Bon Voyage Party – Dec. 21st. 2014
I would like to thank my family and friends for showing up to wish me well on my journey. Unlike many who embark on such a quest, I didn’t encounter the kind of negativity that some people experience when going outside the societal norm by engaging in long term world travel. I do wish I could have participated more in the party, but I always get caught up in attending to details to make things run smoothly. At any rate, we went through seven bottles of champagne and ended up with enough food to feed three households for the better part of a week.
The “M&M Girls” ( the only thing that made leaving my job difficult ) showed up after working a full holiday shift at the mall and dazzled the crowd. My kids brought their new spouses, and my former wife and creator of my amazing logo made a special appearance as well. These people have all heard me ramble incessantly about a dream to go vagabonding for a little over a year, and I thank them for their patience.
Lynda, Yelena, and Dina were really there for me last year when an illness derailed a potential springtime departure so I thank them all for their support during that trying time. So now as I have said before, “ALL SYSTEMS ARE GO”, and I can leave knowing that although I am traveling solo, I have you all just a text, a Skype, or a FaceTime away. I do hope you all will follow me around as I orbit the globe.
Ciao,
The Travel Zealot

December 28, 2014Thanks for that, and for submitting the very first comment on the website! It was so much fun having everybody there to see me off. I’m just a text, Skype, or call away in just about any of the countries I am visiting, and I will surely touch base from time to time.
