ARGENTINA: Buenos Aires

Posted by on Jan 21, 2020 in Uncategorized | 4 Comments

This is my second visit to Buenos Aires, and it’s good to be in a familiar city that is not in turmoil. Things are peaceful and not in disarray. My spacious room is a temple of tranquility with its minimalist design and ample storage. A couple of days of this and I just might feel normal again. I have no plan here other than to regroup and catch up with copious blog material. Of course, I’ll enjoy the town while I’m here, and hit the essential attractions like the tango the city’s diverse neighborhoods.

When was the moment when hairstyles started emulating freak shows of the 30s and 40s?

Sounds like a great place of peace vs prior location!

    Hey Doug,
You’re going to have to go back to the beginning of the year after I finally catch up on the blog which at the rate that I’m going will probably be sometime next week in Montevideo, Uruguay. I’m in a spacious, peaceful, upscale room just three minutes from a top notch French restaurant. The room is only $35/night.

Bummer about Terry Jones! A great humorist perishes while a humorless, orange planet-killer lives on.

Recoleta cemetery looks intense. How big is it? How much time did you spend walking through?

    Hey D,
It’s bloody huge and quite involved, but I had already been there with your Mom so I just rushed through getting my photos for the blog. It’s definitely one of the most impressive cemeteries you are likely to visit. Of course, once you take the dirt nap you might as well be buried in a cardboard box for all you’ll care.
