USA: San Diego – Birthday Pit Stop

Posted by on Apr 1, 2019 in Uncategorized | 2 Comments

Kicking off the birthday pit stop is Aria, celebrating her very first birthday on March 29, with me struggling through jet lag and sleeping through most of the party. Fortunately, I took a few decent shots before nap time got the better of me. My birthday is next on April 2nd and we finish up with Danny’s on the 11th.

                                          ARIAS FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY

As usual, Dina goes wild with homemade decorations and cakes. This time she went into overdrive with the rainbow meringues. Bear in mind, that for all of the stress and preparation, the child will remember absolutely nothing of the proceedings.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

It really doesn’t matter what she gets for her birthday since all she cares about is “Hammie the Hamster.”

TUTU COMMANDO

In the window, 12 months of Aria are displayed beneath pastel raindrops. Dina shows off Aria’s one-year mini cake.

C’mon Aria, blow it out.

Aria claws and picks at her little-person sized cake. After securing some viable photos, I retreated to my bed upstairs and disappeared into jetlag oblivion.

My birthday on April 2 was severely obscured by toddlers and went by relatively unnoticed which I suppose is a good thing given my antipathy for birthday parties in general.

I think they are a good thing for children, but I think I am giving them up in the future except for 65, 70, 75, and 80 if I make it that far. So often, I find myself traveling on my birthday anyway.
