BULGARIA: Varna – The Bulgarian Riviera
Departing for the second time in a week on a 4:30 am bus trip, was not exactly enjoyable. At least it was just a four-hour journey instead of fourteen like the previous one. I am finally in a small seaside resort. After a series of five big cities in five weeks, it’s nice to be in a small, relaxing, seaside resort.
As I had feared, my accommodation was a bit farther from the Black Sea than I would have liked. Also, my room smells of mildew which could cause allergy problems so I cut my stay short and booked another hotel for the last seven days of my visit.
The new place is close to everything as well as my favorite beachfront restaurant, The Sea Terrace.

June 9, 2019Hail Travel Zealot! For once I find myself traveling today, in Houston to pay pilgrimage to two beloved things: Van Gogh in a comprehensive exhibition, and the shuttlecraft Galileo, which is at the Space Center! So naturally as I’m trying to go to sleep, I am availing myself of your glorious blog, as one (mediocre) traveler to another (great one)! Sorry to hear about the mildew though, I have allergies too! Hail!

June 9, 2019Doomcock, How cool is it that you will see the Star Trek shuttlecraft Galileo in the Space Center as well as some amazing Van Gogh masterpieces? There is a very touching episode of Dr. Who featuring Van Gogh played by an actor with a striking resemblance to the great artist. I would love to catch a glimpse of the Galileo if it’s still there when I’m in Texas. I don’t suppose I’d be lucky enough to see the Van Goghs since those exhibits are usually a limited engagement.
